The Minister and Chairman of the Delegation of the M-11 affirmed their commitment to ensure that the tropical forest, which is the source of life and container preservation of mankind’s cultural heritage as well as habitat for various species of flora and fauna, is a source for maintaining the continuity of the present generation and that will come.
Besides agreeing with the project, at the meeting also discussed various topics related to forestry issues, including issues of biodiversity, climate change and sustainable forest management (sustainable forest management). Discussions are also touching on some issues that have relevance to the topics discussed during the Special Session of UNEP Governing Council / Forum of Environment Ministers.

They also noted the importance of placing the issue of reducing emissions from deforestation and forest degradation (reducing emissions from deforestation and forest Degradation / REDD) and the need to increase the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.
The Minister and Chairman of the Delegation of the F-11 Ministers stressed that a deal for about incentives for REDD actions on the field through the establishment of a mechanism including the REDD-plus must be realized in order to mobilize funding resources from the developed countries. In this case, also confirmed the importance of development and technology transfer and capacity building to help developing countries.
