The Minister and Chairman of the Delegation of the M-11 affirmed their commitment to ensure that the tropical forest, which is the source of life and container preservation of mankind’s cultural heritage as well as habitat for various species of flora and fauna, is a source for maintaining the continuity of the present generation and that will come.

Besides agreeing with the project, at the meeting also discussed various topics related to forestry issues, including issues of biodiversity, climate change and sustainable forest management (sustainable forest management). Discussions are also touching on some issues that have relevance to the topics discussed during the Special Session of UNEP Governing Council / Forum of Environment Ministers.

President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) officially closed the series of working meetings (working meeting) or retreats II in Tampaksiring Palace, Gianyar, Wednesday (21 / 4) yesterday. Meeting for three days resulted in a number of important decisions. Especially concerning the handling of the action plan of social and economic problems in national and regional levels.

President Yudhoyono delivered his closing speech at precisely 9:00 pm. He concluded, the discussion during the three-day retreat is in line with the targeted purposes.
